1. What is the intended detection coverage of the air sampling systems? *

This information is needed in order to ensure that the system is designed to the correct specification.

Required field

2. Which requirement(s), if any, does the FAAST system have to meet? *

Required field

3. Is there an Air Sampling Section of the Fire Alarm Specification that could assist with the layout?

This is necessary as it may provide more information on the project, such as aspiration detector requirements and panel interface.

4. Are there drawings / plans available in pdf format?

Drawings of the space are required to design a system. Without knowing what obstacles may need to be accounted for in a space, it is impossible to complete an accurate design.

(You will be prompted to attached the pdf file after submitting the form.)

5. What is the name and location (on the plan) of the area to be protected by FAAST and where should the detector(s) be located in the desired space?

Knowing where the detectors should be placed is important. There are specific locations where the wiring to the detector is going to travel. Providing a location for the detector at the beginning of the design phase of the project reduces the likelihood of the need to redesign the system.

6. What are the dimensions of the area (s) to be protected (length, width, and ceiling height)?

Dimensions are key to providing accurate BOM and Pipe Layout reports. This means the actual dimensions must be provided and not just the area's square footage. Ceiling heights are generally not provided on drawings, so remember to provide this dimension as well.

7. Is there any other equipment FAAST will be monitoring within the protected space, such as computer servers, telephone equipment or CRAC's (Computer Room Air Conditioners)?

If the answer is yes, additional information is needed, such as the dimensions to and from the equipment to the detector, and the size of the return air grills.

8. What is the area's air flow and how many air exchanges are there in an hour?

Air flow can have an effect on sample point spacing and must be accounted for. An estimate of average airflow in ft/min or L/min, or the number of air changes per hour will help ensure proper system design.

9. What additional accessories are needed, such as capillaries (for above ceiling, and equipment design), or P-Unions?

All fields marked with an asterisk (*) are required.
