The new design of the SpectrAlert® Advance speakers and speaker strobes combines the input from customers with the ingenuity of a dedicated engineering team, resulting in the first plug-in speaker line available in the industry.
The plug-in design of the new System Sensor speakers and speaker strobes reduces ground faults by allowing installers to pre-wire mounting plates and dress wires before connecting the speakers. The speakers have a protective cover that eliminates exposed speaker components and prevents nicked wires.
A shorting spring tests wiring continuity, providing instant feedback during the installation. Technicians can secure mounting plates and use paint covers to prevent debris accumulation in the units as walls and ceilings are finished. Rotary switches replace shunts, simplifying field selections.
The new speaker strobes offer the lowest current draw on the highest candela setting. Standard speaker strobes have seven settings (15, 15/75, 30, 75, 95, 110, 115) and high candela models have four settings (135, 150, 177, 185). The SP speakers offer a high fidelity signal for clear, intelligible evacuation messages, while the SPV speakers offer high volume for notification in applications with high levels of ambient noise.
The wide variety of mounting options and available accessories allow speakers and speaker strobes to be installed in virtually any application. “We have the broadest range of outdoor speakers and speaker strobes in the industry,” says Christa Poss, product marketing manager, System Sensor. “We include a new plastic weatherproof back box with each outdoor model. It is lighter, easier to mount, and resistant to salt water corrosion. It also has removable side flanges and knockouts for conduit connections.” Metal back boxes are also available.
The SpectrAlert Advance outdoor speakers and speaker strobes can accommodate in-and-out wiring for daisy chaining outdoor devices. Options for outdoor products include metal or plastic outdoor back boxes, white or red plastic housings, or wall or ceiling mount. Outdoor speakers and strobes offer reliable operation from -40°F to 141°F (-40°C to 66°C).
They may be used indoors or outdoors in wet or dry conditions. In addition, these speakers provide a broad frequency response range and low harmonic distortion to provide an accurate and intelligible broadcast of evacuation messages. High sound pressure level at all tap settings ensures clear messages.
These newest speakers and speaker strobes blend into the SpectrAlert Advance portfolio with the same quality design, configuration, and installation features consistent with System Sensor wall mount horns, strobes, horn/strobes, chimes and chime strobes, as well as ceiling mount strobes and horn/strobes.
