Products: Intelligence of the Latest Detection Technology Put to the Test

Test 1TEST 1

Simulation condition: Flood chamber with cold smoke as found in a disco or performance theater setting

Response: Photoelectric sensor registers smoke and hits pre-alarm mode on the composite screen. However, the infrared level is too low to indicate a fire, and there is no increase in CO or thermal readings. The detector determines that this is not a true fire, and it drops out of the pre-alarm mode.

Result: Nuisance condition, no real fire

To demonstrate the effectiveness of the Advanced Multi-Criteria Fire Detector in both nuisance and true fire scenarios, System Sensor placed the detector within a specially designed simulation chamber. A display screen above the chamber provides a composite image of the four sensing elements as they react individually and collectively to testing conditions, providing a quickly updated historical view of how the sensors are progressing.

At the touch of a button, a tester can simulate common nuisance alarm conditions and track how the device responds to one or more fire-related stimuli.
