System Sensor Launches CO1224 Carbon Monoxide Detector
ST. CHARLES, IL, 2006 – System Sensor, a Honeywell company (NYSE: HON), has partnered with the worldwide leader in gas sensing, Honeywell Analytics, to design the CO1224, a 12/24-volt detector, for use with security and fire panels. The CO1224 provides the most reliable carbon monoxide (CO) detection obtainable.
“The CO detector market is one of the fastest growing segments in the fire- and life-safety industry,” says Mike Berg, business unit leader and product manager for the CO1224. “As legislation requiring CO detectors in residential and commercial dwellings continues to pass, we wanted to make sure we had a top-performing detector available to our customers.”
System Sensor’s CO1224 offers many top-performing features, including system connecting capabilities that guarantee around-the-clock protection by a central monitoring station.

“CO can’t be detected by human senses, so you have to rely on a CO detector to detect the toxic gas,” Berg says. “Because the CO1224 calculates CO concentrations accurately and communicates to the panel immediately, the proper authorities can identify the source before any serious injuries occur. This is life-saving, especially when residents are sleeping or already suffering the effects from CO, such as headache, drowsiness or nausea.”
The CO1224 is also the industry’s first carbon monoxide detector specifically designed for system operation, featuring a built-in trouble relay and SEMS terminals for wiring supervision. Other features include versatile mounting options and the lowest current draw in the industry.
